Trevor Lawrence isn’t usually the most active quarterback on social media, but he saw something Thursday that made him come out of hibernation.
The quarterbacks in the AFC were ranked by NFL Network analyst Kyle Brandy in groups of one through six, with one representing the best quarterback. Lawrence, who this past season led his club to a playoff victory and was selected to the Pro Bowl, was ranked sixth.
He did not agree at all. Lawrence was on the same level as Kenny Pickett, Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa.
“The game ain’t played on paper,” the Jaguars signal caller tweeted.
“Lawrence was the most popular response on Twitter,” Brandt said. “‘How could you have Trevor Lawrence there?’ I love him . . . wins a playoff game despite playing terribly in the first half, then makes the comeback, so it’s complicated.”
Brandt was referring to Lawrence throwing four interceptions in the first half of the wild-card game against the Chargers and going into halftime down 27 points. However, he would lead a furiosu comeback that is now considered the biggest comeback in playoff history. He played opposite of Justin Herbert, who was placed in the No. 3 tier by Brandt.

Lawrence ultimately finished the ’22 season with 4,113 passing yards and 25 touchdowns through the air.
The year prior, his QB record during the 2021 season was just 3-14 but it was moreso because of the entire team being terrible.
Lawrence posted a much-improved 9-8 QB record in 2022.
Lawrence can use this as motivation during the upcoming season as the three other tams in the AFC South are likely to be led by rookie quarterbacks in 2023.
