There was a point last night when everyone was getting their Trevor Lawrence memes prepared for publishing, as the Jacksonville Jaguars were trailing the Los Angeles Chargers in the first half of their wild card game, 27-0, thanks in large part to their quarterback’s four first half interceptions.
But then, out of nowhere, the Jags’ offense started to click. They scored one touchdown before the end of the first half to make it 27-7 at the break. And they really poured it on in the second half, outscoring the Chargers 24-3 to complete the 31-30 comeback victory.
It was a tale of two halves in this Wild Card thriller, and after the game, Trevor Lawrence had the perfect meme to describe it:
That meme was as on-point as the 2021 first overall pick himself during that second half last night.
Up next, Lawrence and the Jags will visit the Chiefs, Bills or Bengals (or host the Ravens, if Baltimore and Miami both pull off improbable upsets on Sunday). Their latest comeback was fun and all, but I’d advise against giving any of those aforementioned teams a 27-point lead in the Divisional Round next week.
