The Cowboys were emerging as strong Super Bowl contenders following a hot 2-0 start to their season that saw their defense dominate during lopsided victories over the New York Giants and New York Jets. Losing their top corner is a massive hit to those championship aspirations.
It’ll be interesting if Jerry Jones and company attempt to replace Diggs somehow through a trade or free agency. Unfortunately, cornerbacks of his caliber don’t just grown on trees.
Through two games this season, Diggs had three passes defended, one interception and a forced fumble. He’s given up just three completions on nine targets for a measly 31 yards and no touchdowns.
