Trevon Diggs has downplayed his trash-talking incident with Dak Prescott this week.
The Dallas Cowboys teammates got into it on the practice field, with things getting heated for a few seconds as Diggs was heard telling Prescot to shut his “B-A up.”
The quarterback downplayed the incident in an interview with FOX 4 News on Thursday, insisting words on the field aren’t taken personally. Diggs has also said the outburst was by no means indicative of any disrespect, claiming he loves Dak “to death.”
“I feel like it makes practice fun,” the cornerback told reporters. “At the end of the day, that’s my brother. I love Dak to death. There’s nothing behind it. It’s just competitiveness, it’s just football.”
As it pertains to those who claim he does not respect Prescott, Diggs is not having any of it.
“Stay out of our business,” he shot back. “People don’t need to worry about what we got going on, our relationship, my relationship with my brother. Dak is the leader of our team. He’s going to go out there and have a great year. I have the utmost respect for Dak.”

If there is some animosity between the players, they’re not letting anyone in on it. While it’s rare to hear a player go at a face-of-the-franchise Qb in such a manner, intense competition could bring out some surprising displays.
And who knows? Maybe Dak will be all the better next season after being handled so roughly by his own defense.
