The Cincinnati Bengals fan base is unhappy this week after a fan favorite saw his time with the team come to a shocking end.
The Bengals will release Trent Taylor, a punt returner and wide receiver who stepped up in certain crucial moments of last year’s playoff run.
Taylor had three catches for 26 yards during the Bengals’ preseason. He saw action in two of the three games, returning punts in one of them.
He played in 20 games over the last two years for the Bengals. He saw limited action on offense, catching eight passes for 103 yards. However, he was solid on punt returns, netting an average of 10.3 yards per return in 2022. His career average for yards per kickoff return sits at 13.3.
Last season, Taylor appeared in 16 games for the Bengals and recorded six receptions on 10 targets for 62 yards and no touchdowns. He added four rushes for 15 yards and 340 total punt return yards.
