Trent Dilfer is speaking highly of Tua Tagovailoa.
Tua Tagovialoa is considered by a lot of experts to be the second quarterback to be taken off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft, but Trent Dilfer thinks he should be higher on that list.
Dilfer claims that Tagovailoa throws better than Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino.
“If he would have never gotten hurt there would have been no discussion about who the best player in the draft is,” Dilfer says, via the Washington Post. “He throws the football better than anyone throws the football. He throws better than Aaron Rodgers and Dan Marino. Whoever gets him wins the draft because you are getting a Hall of Fame player.”
Prior to the 2019 season, Tagovailoa was the most talked about QB that was widely connected to the Miami Dolphins, but a hip injury at Alabama in 2019 not only cooled off those talks, but raised some concerns with his health going forward.
Tagovailoa may have been a stud in college, but it is way too early to compare him or even state he’s better than some all-time great NFL quarterbacks that have already proven themselves on the big stage.
Only time will tell if Tagovailoa can live up to the expectations that Dilfer has placed on him.
