When an NFL player posts something on social media on the same day as the trade deadline, you better believe fans are going to look into it and dissect every aspect of that post.
That’s exactly what happened when New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown tweeted the words, “next chapter,” at 2:29pm ET on Tuesday, just 90 minuted before the deadline.
Not surprisingly, everyone took that as Brown’s way of hinting that he’d been dealt to a different team…
Of course, he was not traded. And after realizing that everyone on Twitter thought he was, Brown took to the social media platform to clear things up.

Seriously, Trent? How do you NOT expect people to look “that deep” into a comment like “next chapter” on trade deadline day?
Something tells me that this wasn’t quite the accident that Brown is making it out to be. Could he have been trying to fool us all from the start? I wouldn’t put it past him…
