Jason Kelce has announced his retirement from the NFL, having mulled over it for weeks.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center reportedly told teammates he would be calling it quits after they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs but made it official in a press conference held on Monday.
Jason’s younger brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was in attendance with their parents. Both brothers got quite emotional and found it hard to hold back the tears.
Travis, fresh off a second successive Super Bowl win, honored big bro with a special T-shirt bearing a photo of Jason walking off a football field in an Eagles uniform.
Check it out below:
The shirt can be purchased on Homage and is called the “Jason Kelce Pay Homage.” Some of the proceeds will go towards (Be)Philly, Jason’s non-profit organization in Philadelphia.

“I am forever grateful to my friends and teammates who have lent their time and attention to this cause. And thankful to any person who strives to leave this city better than they’ve found it,” Jason said in a 2022 press release in which he detailed the organization’s goals.
“Philadelphia has only one future, and it rests in the hands of our children. We owe it to them, and to ourselves, to invest in that future with all we’ve got. That’s exactly what we’re here to do. Let’s do this, Philadelphia… together.”
While he will no longer play for the Eagles, Jason is still keen on helping the city.
