The Kansas City Chiefs made a roster move ahead of the season opener against the Detroit Lions amid Travis Kelce’s injury woes. Another roster move will have to be made possibly for their next game or more.
Kelce has not missed a game due to injury since his rookie season in 2013 and now he may end up missing another one and possibly more.
NFL Media reported that the tight end is dealing with a bone bruise. Kelce tested out his knee Thursday morning, but had no power and struggled in a pool, according to NBC’s Melissa Stark. He is currently wearing a compression sleeve on that knee.
NFL Doctor David J. Chao added to the woes that a bone bruise is measured in weeks not days, meaning Kelce might be out for some time.
Kelce was injured in practice Tuesday. He has missed three games since his rookie season in 2013 but none because of injury.
The Chiefs have two other tight ends on their active roster, Noah Gray and Blake Bell. They will need to step up in a huge way.

Kelce, who has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in seven consecutive seasons, caught a career-best 110 passes for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.
This is a huge loss for the team.
