Travis Kelce is rumored to be dating Taylor Swift after his initial failed attempt to slip into her circle of friends. And the NFL is milking it for everything it’s got.
Sure, this has been a great story for the NFL. Having Taylor appear at games while she’s thought to be dating one of the league’s biggest stars is huge. But fans are already growing tired of it and Travis is also of the view that they are “overdoing” it.
Speaking to his brother, Jason Kelce, on their ‘New Heights’ podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted it’s been fun, though the league is perhaps taking their coverage a bit too far.
“I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game,” he said. “I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, they’re overdoing it a little bit, especially my situation.”
Can’t blame the guy, but it’s already too late. The league is unlikely to back down given that television ratings for Chiefs games have gone up since Swift’s appearances – you’d think it wasn’t possible for them to get more attention – while Kelce gear has been flying out of the stores.
The Chiefs’ next game will be an away fixture against the Minnesota Vikings. It will be interesting to see what happens if Swift shows up again.
