The Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals are in one of the hottest rivalries in the NFL and it’s because both teams are trash-talking each other after they have met up in back-to-back appearances in the AFC Championship Game. Both teams have beaten the other to advance to the Super Bowl, but only the Chiefs have come out as winners. Cincinnati won by three points in 2022, and Kansas City won by three points in 2023.
After the Bengals defeated the Chiefs in 2021, Patrick Mahomes and company bounced back in 2022 and went on to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Despite the loss, it has not stopped the Bengals from chirping this off-season.
Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase created headlines last week when he said quarterback Joe Burrow is the best player in the NFL while saying “Pat who?” at the end when told that Burrow called Mahomes’ name.
Those words got back to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Speaking on his New Heights podcast, Kelce called Chase’s comments “a little bold.”
“It is what it is, dog,” Kelce said, according to Fox News. “Who doesn’t love some good locker room banter, man? Shoutout to Ja’Marr Chase for holding it down for his QB, but don’t you ever disrespect Pat Mahomes now.
“If you want to talk your [smack], talk your [smack] … Just better back it up.”
Jason Kelce finished Travis’ sentence by noting that it was “a little disrespectful” from Chase.

Mahomes responded as well when he savagely posted a picture of himself with his two Super Bowl rings and the caption, “That’s who” with two ring emojis.
The rivalry is bound to continue as the two quarterbacks enter their primes.
Cincinnati will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs in Week 17 during the 2023 regular season.
As fans, we can only hope and pray that these two teams meet in the playoffs yet again.
