Travis Kelce has hit back at accusations questioning his loyalty to the Cleveland Guardians. This follows a baseball date night with pop sensation Taylor Swift that ignited a firestorm earlier this week.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who was born and raised out of a suburb just 15 miles outside of Cleveland, was spotted at the Guardians’ MLB playoff clash against the New York Yankees inside Yankees stadium alongside his girlfriend.
However, he was not sporting any Guardians gear, which many thought was fake and weird of him.
On Thursday night, Travis Kelce went on X and posted “Playoff baseball baby @CleGuardians have the city absolutely ROCKIN TONIGHT! What a game!”
This came after the Cleveland Guardians defeated the New York Yankees in walk-ff fashion in extra innings.
Kelce found himself defending his fandom soon afterward.
“I’ve been a Cleveland sports fan my entire life… Make it back to countless amount of games over the years both Guards and Cavs just to enjoy these memories with my friends and family, WIN OR LOSE!!… and I don’t wear Cleveland gear one time and all of a sudden I’m not a real fan?!” he wrote on X. “Ask anybody that was in or around that suite on game 1 who I was cheering for, they’ll let you know I was there for the (Guardians).”

Unfortunately for Travis Kelce, social media never forgets.
The official X/Twitter account for the Talkin’ Yanks podcast shared a screenshot of a 2010 Kelce tweet that showed he was most certainly rooting for the New York Yankees when he played at the University of Cincinnati.
In the tweet, Kelce stated how he was “hurting” because his Yankees lost to the Texas Rangers.
In 2010, Kelce would’ve been around 21-years-old.

Will Travis Kelce Explain Himself?
On his podcast with his brother, Jason, Travis Kelce speaks on just about anything.
He will surely address fans questioning his loyalty to the Cleveland Guardians since he already defended himself after Game 3.
However, it remains to be seen if he will address that damning 2010 tweet where he was clearly a fan of the Yankees.
