Patrick Mahomes has now thrown a touchdown overhanded, underhanded and with a shovel pass during today’s game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
For his latest touchdown, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce faked like he was confused before the play from the goal line, and it caught the Eagles completely off guard.
Mahomes was able to quickly snap the ball and hit Jody Fortson with a shovel pass for the 2-yard touchdown.
That was Patrick Mahomes’ third touchdown of the game, giving him at least three touchdown passes in each of his first four games of the season. The Chiefs quarterback nearly broke the single season touchdown record when he threw for 50 TDs in 2018. At this rate, he could make another serious run at Peyton Manning’s record of 55, which he set in 2013 as a member of the Broncos.
The Chiefs currently lead the Eagles, 21-13, early in the second half. There’s still plenty of time for more Mahomes magic.
