The NFL has handed down two more suspensions with the 2023 season approaching.
According to Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com, wide receiver Tavis Jonsen and cornerback Mazzi Wilkins have both been suspended for three games.
Jonsen last played in the league in 2021, having spent the 2020 season and part of the following campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was released by the team after getting arrested for driving under the influence in 2021, with head coach Todd Bowles telling reporters he “is no longer with the team” on the back of the incident. He hasn’t been able to find another team since.
The reason for his suspension remains unknown.
Wilkins, meanwhile, has only featured in seven games since his rookie season in 2019. He played one game with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021 and, last year, was on the Philadelphia Stars roster in the USFL.
The reason for his suspension is also unknown.
