Who said Lamar Jackson was a running back who can’t throw?
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback reportedly added some weight during the offseason. Jackson is up to 220 lbs which has helped him throw with more velocity and tighter spirals.
That was proven when he unleashed a 60-yeard bomb at training camp.
Jackson has been the best mobile quarterback in the NFL throughout his career, often beating defenses with his speed and elusiveness. Now, imagine defensive players trying to catch him and then being met with an even bigger version this year.
If he has bulked up, however, this could make him even more of a threat as a power rusher. He is still awaiting a new contract, but all signs are pointing to him waiting until the 2022 season is over to get it done.
Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, could command a deal in the range of at least $35-40 million annually and at least $150 million in total value. He is scheduled to make $23 million in the final season of his rookie deal.
