The Denver Broncos have already made one big splash by acquiring head coach Sean Payton from the New Orleans in a blockbuster trade.
Payton, a virtual lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will try to revive the Broncos following a disastrous 2022 season under Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett. But bringing in Payton was surely just one of many big moves ahead for general manager George Payton.
Some additional weapons on offense could go a long way in helping Wilson regain his Pro Bowl-like form. Over at Yardbarker, Seth Trachtman shared a list of 25 bold predictions for the upcoming offseason, and he has Denver making a big splash for do-it-all weapon Taysom Hill:
“During Sean Payton’s tenure in New Orleans, his love for Hill seemed to know no bounds. The team’s long-term deal with Hill shocked much of the football world, but Hill has become an important Swiss Army Knife for the Saints’ offense. New Orleans is now in salary cap hell, so Hill could be made available. Denver doesn’t have much in the way of draft capital, but this move could be a salary dump to spark Payton’s new offense.”
The 6-foot-2, 221-pound Hill has done it all for the Saints. He had to start games at quarterback in 2020 and 2021 because of injuries to starters Drew Brees and Jameis Winston, respectively.
Hill has 43 career receptions for 465 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 1,758 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns. On top of that, Hill has completed 64.5 career pass attempts for 2,265 yards and 10 touchdowns against eight interceptions.
If the Saints are willing to trade Hill, it definitely makes sense to reunite the jack-of-all-trades weapon with Payton.
