Tom Brady might not be done with football just yet, despite having announced his retirement for the second time back in early February.
Fans can hardly be blamed for believing that the former NFL star quarterback could return for at least one more attempt at an eighth Super Bowl as he’s changed his mind before. And, according to Rich Eisen, the biggest rumor he heard at the NFL Scouting combine this year involved a potential Brady comeback.
The former Patriots and Buccaneers QB is actually still being linked with a move to Miami in the wake of his announcement from last month.
“Number one rumor I heard at the combine, not in terms of chatter but this one just blew my mind,” Eisen said. “Tom Brady may not be done after all. Couple people are like ‘Just hang on, just you wait.’ I’m like, he’s Instagramming out videos of his cat.
“The one place that folks are saying keep an eye out for is Miami. And if the Dolphins cannot get…a doctor’s report, a piece of information about Tua that he might not be ready to go. And suddenly, there’s Tom Brady sitting in Florida where his family is located and he can easily locate himself.
“Keep an eye on that, I was told, by a couple of birdies at the Combine.”

Brady has said he will be taking a year off before he joins FOX Sports as a top color analyst in 2024. Whether or not he gets tempted to return to the NFL a second time remains to be seen, but it can’t be ruled out.
The 45-year-old is reported to be looking to spend that year with his family and it’s even been rumored that he’s keen on reuniting with his ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, with his retirement U-turn thought to be one of the main factors leading to their divorce in 2022.
Another interesting bit of quarterback-related fodder coming from Rich based on what he heard at the Combine has to do with Lamar Jackson. Despite the positive updates from Baltimore Ravens GM Eric DeCosta and head coach John Harbaugh from last week, the relationship between the team and their QB is said to be ugly.
“It is not pretty between Lamar and the Ravens,” Eisen said. “It is not pretty between the two of them.”
