ESPN’s top NFL insider, Adam Schefter, has suggested that the Chicago Bears could be considering a change at quarterback following their latest loss.
The Bears fell to 4-5 on the back of a 19-3 defeat to the New England Patriots on Sunday and, as the scoreline suggests, didn’t get into the end zone at all.
Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, hasn’t quite performed as expected in his rookie season and, according to Schefter, could be benched for Tyson Bagent.
“[There’s going to be] some sort of change in Chicago on the offensive side of the football,” Schefter said during an appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Monday.
“Is that changing the playcaller? Is that changing the quarterback and benching Caleb Williams for Tyson Bagent? I think all these things are being discussed in the building today. And, ultimately, the organization has to figure what is the best course of action for this franchise to move forward.”

Caleb Williams Learned A Lot In His Latest Loss
Williams finished Sunday’s game with 120 passing yards and zero touchdowns on 16-of-30 throwing while getting sacked a season-high nine times.
He has also been the most sacked QB in the league this season, with rushers getting to him 38 times.
“Definitely this game is a lot to learn from for myself, just speaking on some of the situational things,” the former USC star told reporters on Sunday. “Obviously, there’s a few passes every game that you wish you could have back and things like that. But I think situationally, this game was a great learning experience for me with some of these situations that I could have done better for sure.”
