Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian has been awarded with a lucrative contract extension after declining offers from multiple NFL teams.
According to a report from Brett McMurphy of The Action Network, Steve Sarkisian has signed a long-term extension with the Longhorns after leading them to the final four for the second straight year.
McMurphy added that Sarkisian turned down interviews from a pair of NFL teams. The Longhorns were eliminated by No. 8 ranked Ohio State 28-14 in the Cotton Bowl and College Football Playoff semifinal last week.

Steve Sarkisian Is Better Off In NCAA
The 50-year-old Sarkisian was previously the head coach of Washington (2009 to 2013) and USC (2014 to 2015). He was the Atlanta Falcons’ offensive coordinator in 2017 and 2018 but was let go after just two years.

Sarkisian has it good at Texas, and he’s making more money than he’d probably make in the NFL. He can return to the pros one day, but there’s no sense leaving the Longhorns just yet.
