Texas Longhorns wide receiver Xavier Worthy is the new record holder for the fastest 40-yard dash time in NFL Combine history.
On Saturday, Worthy ran a 40-yard dash time that was clocked at 4.21 seconds, marking the fastest ever. The record was previously held by John Ross III, who ran a time of 4.22 seconds at the 2017 Combine:
That, folks, is how you boost your draft stock.
At the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, Kalon Barnes (now with the Pittsburgh Steelers) fell just short of matching Ross’ record, running a time of 4.23 seconds.
Worthy is widely projected to be a late first-rounder or early-to-mid second-round selection in April’s 2024 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-1, 172-pound wide receiver racked up 85 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in his final season of college football.
