It is nearly impossible to stop the older generation from believing everything they see on social media, and most of it comes from Facebook.
Tony Dungy may want to take a break from social media. The Super Bowl-winning NFL head coach, who’s now an analyst and color commentator for NBC, recently took to Twitter and promoted a false conspiracy theory.
“That’s nothing,” he said. “Some school districts are putting litter boxes in the school bathrooms for the students who identify as cats. Very important to address every student’s needs.”
Dungy’s tweet draws reference to a hoax that was spread online, but as you can see, Dungy clearly believed it and decided to share it.
Dungy ultimately deleted the problematic tweet.
Following his less-than-stellar performance in the Jaguars vs. Chargers game, fans are now calling for him to lose his job over this false accusation.
