The New York Giants’ playoff hopes are all but extinguished but it has not stopped them from making a move.
After getting benched to start the second half on Christmas, Tommy DeVito was named the backup quarterback for this weekend. Head coach Brian Daboll announced that Tyrod Taylor will start for the G-Men against the Los Angeles Rams.
It appears as DeVito’s Linsanity run is over, at least for the 2023 season.
DeVito spoke to reporters today about the benching and he gave a classy answer to the Giants’ decision.
DeVito only got his opportunity because of a season-ending knee injury to Daniel Jones and a rib injury to Tyrod Taylor.
The Giants had no other choice but to elevate DeVito and start him. e gave the team some excitement thanks to his play and the team putting together a string of victories.

The Giants are 3-2 with DeVito as a starter, as he was a victory away from becoming the first undrafted rookie quarterback in NFL history to win four straight starts before falling to the New Orleans Saints.
DeVito fell hard in that game as he 20-of-34 with 177 yards through the air and was sacked seven times.
The Giants currently own the fifth pick, but could move up as high as No. 2 depending on the results over the final two weeks of the season.
