New York Giants 3rd string quarterback Tommy DeVito has been living his best life the past three weeks.
With Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones out for the season and backup Tyrod Taylor going down with an injury shortly after, former Syracuse signal-caller Tommy DeVito has been left to take the reins in New York and fans and even opposing fans have fallen in love with him.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport recently reported that Devito has a hilarious name that stemmed from his signing bonus and explained that Devito, as an undrafted player, had to get in front of the team to state his name, his school, and his signing bonus.
Instead of saying $10,000, he said “Ten bands,” and that ended up becoming his nickname.
The New York Giants‘ season hasn’t gone how they wanted, with the team sitting at 5-8 after they went to the playoffs last year and won a Wild card game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Fortunately, DeVito’s fame and his agent’s appearance on the sideline ahead of Monday Night Football sparked up more conversations about his Italian background and given life to the team.

In college, DeVito played 39 games, passing for 6,516 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions. He also ran for 253 yards and 10 touchdowns. His record as a starting quarterback is 15-16 which is why he went undrafted.
He signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent, where he went on to make the 53-man roster.
DeVito has had a very nice start to his NFL career, throwing for 855 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions in four games in relief of the injured Daniel Jones while leading the New York Giants to a 3-1 record.
