Up by a touchdown and facing a 4th-and-inches from deep inside the Rams’ territory late in Super Bowl LIII, the New England Patriots were faced with a decision: go for it or kick the game-sealing 40-yard field-goal.
A mic’d up Bill Belichick seemed to want to go for it, but quarterback Tom Brady provided the voice of reason:
“40-yarder. Game over.”
That’s exactly what happened, and it’s why the Brady-Belichick combo now has six Super Bowl titles together.
