Tom Brady threw some big-time shade at Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott after learning of his first assignment for the “NFL on FOX” this September.
On Monday, Pro Football Hall of Famer and FOX NFL analyst Michael Strahan broke some exciting news to Tom Brady. He informed the seven-time Super Bowl Champion that he’ll begin his new career by calling the Cleveland Browns’ Week 1 home opener against the Cowboys. And he’ll be doing so alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Erin Andrews.
The entire 2024 NFL regular season schedule will be announced this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. EST on NFL Network. For now, fans can circle this can’t-miss Week 1 contest on their schedule, as Brady makes his “NFL on FOX” debut.
After Strahan broke the news, Brady (seemingly inadvertently) threw major shade at Prescott:
“I know the Cowboys, how important they are to this network, they got great storylines…Dak Prescott, let’s see if he can finally come through. One of the great defensive players…did that just slip out? Micah Parsons…what a great player he is.”
To be fair, Tom Brady has a point here. Prescott has put up MVP numbers practically every season since his 2016 rookie year. And yet the 30-year-old quarterback boasts a woeful career playoff record of 2-5.

In the 2022 offseason, Brady signed a 10-year deal with FOX Sports worth $375 million. After a one-year hiatus from football, the three-time MVP is returning to NFL Sunday programming, just in a different form.
Brady, Burkhardt and Andrews will also be on the call for Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisana.
Tom Brady Went 3-1 Against Dak Prescott
Despite playing in different conferences for the bulk of Prescott’s NFL career, we were treated to four showdowns between Tom Brady and No. 4.
Brady went 3-0 in the regular season against Prescott’s Cowboys, picking up victories in the 2019 (when TB12 was with the New England Patriots), 2021 and 2022 seasons. Prescott, however, got the last laugh by leading Dallas to a blowout win over Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2022 Wild Card Round. That game, of course, would be the final outing of Brady’s illustrious career.
