Well, things just got interesting.
After Super Bowl LV, an upset Tyrann Mathieu took to Twitter and stated that Bucs QB Tom Brady called him something on the field that he could not repeat back to anybody.
He quickly deleted the tweet.
Hours later, ESPN reported that Tom Brady actually texted an apology to Mathieu for several on-field verbal altercations that they had.
Via the report:
“Brady apologized to Mathieu for losing his composure in the moment of the game, of which Mathieu said, “I’ve never really seen that side of him.”
During the game, Brady and Mathieu sparred multiple times. At one point, Brady even chased him down and got in his face.
Brady told Mathieu he’d watched him since his days at LSU, considered him a “class act” and a “great leader,” the source said. Brady said he wished he could have apologized in person, according to the source.
The source added that Brady said his outbursts in an emotional moment were in no way a reflection on his feelings toward Mathieu, whom he spoke of highly throughout the week leading up to the game.”

With it being the Super Bowl, if something out of line was said on the field, it was most definitely caught on mic and should be released to the public.
