Former star quarterback Tom Brady has been catching strays in the wake of the Raiders firing Josh McDaniels… but in a good way.
The team announced the firing of their second-year head coach in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, when most people were rolling around in bed. Both McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler were handed their marching orders and the team has since appointed linebackers coach Antonio Pierce as interim HC while assistant GM Champ Kelly has filled Ziegler’s vacated spot.
McDaniels is the ninth head coach who has been hired and fired after finding success while working with Brady and the third to be fired twice. His spell in Vegas sees him let go after just 25 games, three fewer than the 28 games he coached in Denver.
Fans are all saying the same thing about the erstwhile QB in the aftermath of the not-so-shocking development, praising the seven-time Super Bowl winner for making his coaches’ careers.
