Tom Brady thought bitcoin was going to go nuts when he spoke about it on social media. Unfortunately for him and others, the world’s No. 1 crypto asset has been mostly heading south.
It was back in May when Brady changed his Twitter profile image to laser eyes. On Monday, Brady acknowledged that his timing could have been a bit better with bitcoin:
“Alright the laser eyes didn’t work. Anyone have any ideas?” wrote Brady, responding to a tweet from Jason Yanowitz, co-founder of BlockWorks, which highlighted Brady’s image changing gambit against a disappointing bitcoin chart.
Bitcoin prices dropped down nearly 40% since Brady’s image change and the crypto is down over 50% from its mid-April peak. The digital coin has almost wiped out all of its triple-digit gains and turned flat on the year.
At least he still has seven rings.
