As Tom Brady was engineering yet another impressive comeback over the Atlanta Falcons, his former team saw their postseason hopes end.
The Patriots’ 22-12 loss to the Dolphins ended their postseason hopes for the first time since 2008.
Brady, whose Tampa Bay squad is 9-5, was asked about his reaction to the team’s misfortunes.
“As far as the Patriots, they have their own thing going,” Brady said after the Buccaneers’ 33-27 win. “I’ve really been focused on how my play needs to be at quarterback, the execution I need, and they’re not really an opponent of mine.
“Obviously I have a lot of friends there, a lot of great relationships, but they’ve been focused on what they need to do and I’ve been trying to focus on what my job is.”
Brady left New England this past offseason to sign a 2-year deal with the Bucs.
It should also be noted that the 2008 Patriots that missed the playoffs, did so without Brady after he tore his ACL in the season opener.
