Hall of Famer Tony Dungy recently ranked Tom Brady as the sixth-toughest quarterback in NFL history to defend.
His comments would eventually get around to the man himself, who took to Twitter and fired back to Dungy’s ranking with a take of his own, posting an image on Twitter of the Colts’ “2014 AFC Finalist” banner hanging in Lucas Oil Stadium.
It should be noted that Dungy had nothing to do with that game, as he was retired from NFL coaching six seasons at that point. It was Chuck Pagano who was head coach of the team in 2014.
So, why did Brady post it?
“I was just having fun,” Brady told ESPN’s Jenna Laine. “I was only referring to him as the Indy head coach, not as the Bucs head coach. So it was nothing personal. Coach Dungy knows I love him. I was just giving him a little grief. He gave me a little grief. I gave him a little grief. It was all in good fun.”
