Since entering the league in 2000, Tom Brady has accomplished more than any other player in NFL history. The man has seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVP awards, three league MVPs, two Offensive Player of the Year Awards, and a boatload of other accolades and records.
Simply put, Tom Brady has done it all during his time in the NFL. So, what more does he have to prove?
His wife, Gisele, was wondering the same thing when she embraced her husband on the field in Tampa following the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl victory less than a month ago.
Tom Brady revealed the conversation he had with Gisele after the big game, in which she urged him to hang up the cleats right then and there. Here’s how he explained it during an appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden last night:
“Okay, the season’s over, they’re dropping confetti, and this year was obviously different with a lot of the protocols, but anyway…
“We were looking for my family. And I was like, ‘where’s my family, where’s my family?’ And all of a sudden I see my oldest son run over to me…and I gave him a big hug. I saw my two little ones, and the all of a sudden I saw my wife and I gave her a big hug. And just as I did it, she says, ‘What more do you have to prove?”
When asked by Corden how he responded to Gisele’s comment, Brady simply stated that he just hugged her and tried to figure out a way to change the subject.
Unfortunately for Gisele, it doesn’t appear as though she’ll get her wish this offseason, as Brady appears set on playing at least one more season in the NFL…and maybe more.
