Tom Brady has played his entire NFL career with the New England Patriots, but the future hall of famer is set to become a free agent for the first time in his career.
To add to the speculation that he might be leaving the Patriots is a report from NBC Sports Boston’s Gary Tanguay who stated that the legendary quarterback and his family are “planning to leave the area.” He also cited an anonymous source that suggested the 42-year-old Brady is “embarrassed” by his compensation in contrast to contracts of other NFL quarterbacks and figures to depart the Patriots in March.
Tanguay said, “is to let the kids finish school this year, and then they’re gone.”
WEEI’s Greg Hill has also indicated that Brady’s family suite at Gillette Stadium has been thoroughly cleaned out and his home in Brookline, Massachusetts, remains for sale, per NBC Sports.
The 6-time Super Bowl champion is set to hit the open market in March.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft has already stated he wants Brady to return or retire, but Brady confirmed he will continue playing in 2020. His final pass at Gillette Stadium may have been the pick-6 thrown in a Wild Card loss to the Tennessee Titans.
