Sorry, New York Jets’ fans. But another Super Bowl and MVP-winning quarterback and first ballot Hall of Famer isn’t un-retiring to replace Aaron Rodgers.
Immediately after the Jets lost Rodgers for the season with a torn Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, fans and pundits started floating around the idea of the team reaching out to Tom Brady to see if he would un-retire again.
But during the latest edition of his “Let’s Go!” podcast (h/t Robert O’Neill of The Comeback), Brady responded to the idea from co-host Jim Gray and made it clear that this dream scenario for Jets fans simply isn’t happening
“No, no, no, next question! You already know,” Brady said. “I love being with you guys on Mondays and I love what we got going.”
Brady initially retired from football on Feb. 1, 2022, only to announce 40 days later that he was returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd NFL season. Two weeks after the Bucs were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round, the seven-time Super Bowl champion announced again on Feb. 1 that he was retired.
Fast forward seven months later, and it certainly looks like Brady is standing firm on his second retirement announcement.

New York head coach Robert Saleh stated after the Week 1 win over Buffalo that Zach Wilson would be the QB going forward. Given his awful outing in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys, however, it’s not too early to wonder if the Jets are already exploring other QB options.
