Tom Brady has addressed the latest come-out-of-retirement rumors that surfaced on the back of his involvement with the Las Vegas Raiders and the recent revelations pertaining to Jimmy Garoppolo.
Brady is soon-to-be a Raiders minority owner after reaching an agreement with controlling owner Mark Davis and, with Jimmy G’s future now shrouded in uncertainty after reports of a failed medical and a clause that frees the team from financial obligations, it’s been rumored that TB12 could play for the team.
He would need approval from a majority of the NFL owners as a team owner can’t simply suit up, but there’s always the option of putting ownership on hold so he could become the Vegas quarterback for 2023.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the seven-time Super Bowl winner “likes” the uncertainty that the media and fans have over his future.
“We’ve heard from at least one person familiar with Brady that he truly is done playing, but that he likes the ongoing uncertainty as to whether he’ll play,” Florio writes. “If he wants to truly own a piece of the Raiders, he should say in no uncertain terms that he won’t be playing. And if he wants to keep the door open on playing, he should wait to become an owner.”
Tom Brady Is Certain He Won’t Be Coming Back
Brady has since appeared in a video saying he won’t be coming back to the NFL, at least not as a player. Speaking to Sports Illustrated’s Robin Lundberg, the 45-year-old claimed to be “certain” he’s not going to play again.

Brady needs 24 of the 32 NFL owners to approve his purchase of a stake in the Raiders. He would need the same number of votes to play for the team if that ever becomes the intention.
Doesn’t seem like that’s going to be the case, though.
