Tom Brady has had to fend off rumors pertaining to a possible return to the NFL in the wake of what’s a second retirement as it appears most people have to see Brady not come back to believe Brady won’t come back.
It’s now being suggested that he could sign for the Las Vegas Raiders should a certain thing happen.
The Raiders unveiled Jimmy as their new starting QB this past Friday and, while he wasn’t their first priority, they’ve brought him in on a three-year deal as they clearly believe he can give them what they need while they consider a long-term option.
Given Jimmy G’s bad luck with injuries over the past few seasons, FOX Sports’ Nick Wright has floated the idea of Brady joining Vegas should Garoppolo go down injured again.
“I had Eric Mangini say to me about a month ago that he doesn’t think Tom Brady is gonna play Week 1, but if there were a team that he knows the system that were to have a need at quarterback midway or late in the year, he could potentially come back under that circumstance,” he said on The Herd last week.
“Well, now the Raiders have Josh McDaniels as the head coach, and a starting quarterback that is the most injury-prone starting quarterback in football. … But could this possibly open the door a bit to Tom Brady being a midseason Raider acquisition? I think possibly.”

It’s actually hard to believe that Brady wouldn’t be tempted by an NFL return if it only meant playing a handful of games, especially as he won’t be joining Wright at FOX until 2024.
The Raiders are unique in that they have Josh McDaniels as their coach. Brady spent years playing under the HC while he was the offensive coordinator in New England so he wouldn’t have to learn a new system.
Of course, this is an unlikely scenario. But the Raiders might just turn to TB12 if Jimmy G sustains a season-ending injury.
