Tom Brady is the latest big-named retired athlete to get involved in the world of sports team ownership.
On Thursday, Brady announced in a Twitter video post that he has become part owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Mark Davis, the owner of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, is the main oner of the WNBA club.
“I’m excited to announce I’m gonna become part of the Las Vegas Aces’ organization,” Brady said in the video. “It was a matter of time before I was back in the building with some of the greatest athletes in the world.”
So there’s one more thing for Brady to focus on in his post-playing endeavors.
Last year, it was announced that Brady signed a giant 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX to serve as an analyst alongside play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt. Brady recently announced, however, that his broadcasting career won’t begin until fall 2024.
The Aces are the defending WNBA Champions, having defeated the Connecticut Sun in last year’s finals. Las Vegas is coached by Becky Hammon, a six-time WNBA All-Star who worked as a San Antonio Spurs’ assistant coach from 2014 to 2022.

Brady was initially retired for 40 days last year before announcing his plans to come back for a 23rd season. Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the NFC South division crown, but they were eliminated by the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.
The 2023 WNBA season is slated to begin on Mar. 19. The Aces will aim to be the first defending since the Los Angeles Sparks won back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002.
