Tom Brady may no longer face the pressure of a blitz on the field, but he’ll stay face some pressure off the field.
Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady will be the subject of “The Greatest Roast of All-Time” on Netflix next year. This roast will be part of the streaming service’s “Netflix is a Joke” comedy fest in early May.
The event, which will be held May 5 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California will be recorded for Netflix and hosted by Jeff Ross, reprising the “Roastmaster General” role he played on Comedy Central.
The Hollywood Reporter added that Brady will join a lineup that includes Chris Rock, Ali Wong, John Mulaney, Chelsea Handler, Bert Kreisher, Jon Stewart, David Letterman, Tom Segura, and Matt Rife.
Netflix promises that Brady’s “famous friends and frenemies” will be on hand to lob insults at the greatest quarterback in NFL history.
Tom Brady’s roast session is just a small part of the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke Fest, which will run from May 2-12 with shows at more than 35 Los Angeles venues, including the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek, the Dolby, the Forum, the Palladium, Orpheum Theatre, and the Wiltern, as well as such comedy venues as the Hollywood Improv, Largo, Laugh Factory, and the Comedy Store.

“This is a special time for comedy, both for Netflix and the genre at large,” says Robbie Praw, Netflix VP of Stand-up and Comedy Formats. “We have the privilege of working with comedians who are selling out arenas, winning awards, and building fandoms in the millions. In the 10 years that we’ve been doing stand-up, we’ve seen the art form reach levels we didn’t think possible. This festival aims to capture this moment by bringing together the world’s best comedians for an unforgettable 11 days.”
In his post-playing career, Brady has entertained the idea of becoming a comedian and he even made plans for a comedy career after his performance in the film “80 for Brady.”
Things got weird after his legal team was forced to send a cease-and-desist letter to some comedians who produced an hour-long special titled “It’s Too Easy! A Simulated Hour-Long Comedy Special” that featured an AI version of Brady doing standup.
