Nearly a month after his abrupt release from the New England Patriots, free agent All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown seems to be regretting not behaving himself long enough to make a real impact on his former team.
Active on social media this week, Brown’s recent Instagram posts reveal a player wishing he was back on the Patriots and fighting for a chance to win a Super Bowl.
Brown posted the widely-circulated Wolverine meme, showing the popular Marvel character holding a photo of Antonio Brown and Josh McDaniel.
Amid the many thousands of people that liked that post was Patriots QB Tom Brady who reportedly was never on board with Brown being released from the roster.
“From what I’ve heard, Belichick just did this completely on his own,” Russillo said on The Ryen Russillo Podcast last month. “When Brown was (cut by the Raiders), Drew Rosenhaus calls Bill (and says), ‘Let’s figure this out,’ and Bill’s like, ‘Done.’ But Belichick didn’t consult anybody else and just did it.”

The Patriots decided to cut Brown last month after several harassing text messages surfaced showing him contacting a woman who accused him of sexual misconduct.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft reportedly became “enraged” and immediately made the decision to cut him.
“Kraft and Belichick spoke and decided together to officially release Brown just 11 days after the Patriots signed the controversial star receiver, according to sources,” The Athletic’s Jeff Howe reported.
