Tom Brady cannot find a friend.
That is the theme of a new advertisement for the “Madden 22” video game, which features Brady and Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes on the cover.
In the commercial, the 44-year-old is dialing up all of his old Patriots friends, looking for someone to play with. If you cannot tell, the joke is him trying to convince them to play with him on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Unbeknownst to them, he was simply asking them to play against him in Madden.
Tom Brady has played in the NFL for 21 seasons, so his list of former teammates is quite long.
In real life, he was able to get tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Antonio Brown on the Bucs roster, and both ex-Patriots scored a touchdown in Tampa Bay’s Super Bowl LV win over the Kansas City Chiefs last February.
Patrick Mahomes edged out the Tampa Bay Bucaaneers QB for the top spot among signal-callers as far as ratings in the game.
