When you’re a top NFL quarterback, you definitely want to paid like it, much like Russel Wilson, who just got a 4-year, $140M contract with $107M guaranteed.
Tom Brady is coming off a year where he won his fifth Super Bowl championship, but he’s nowhere near being the top paid QB in the league. In fact, the New England Patriots legend is heading into the final year of his current deal, a 2-year contract that is collectively worth $30 million.
Brady explained the whole thing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” when it was pointed out that he is the 18th highest paid QB in the NFL.
He had one simple answer for not caring: His wife is super rich.
“I think the thing I’ve always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And, my wife [Gisele] makes a lot of money.”
Brady continued … “I’m a little smarter than you think. Actually, it’s a salary cap. You can only spend so much and the more that one guy gets is less for others. And, for a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me.”
Gisele brought in $42 million back in 2013 alone. In 2018, she took in about $10 million.
