Tom Brady and Eli Manning renewed their legendary quarterback rivalry with some lighthearted humor on social media.
The 47-year-old Tom Brady and the younger Manning brother squared off in two Super Bowl showdowns (42 and 46) in their illustrious careers. Eli’s New York Giants came out on top over Brady’s New England Patriots both times and went 3-2 in their head-to-head meetings.
Brady and Manning had some fun rekindling their friendly rivalry on social media today. Manning poked fun at Brady by sharing side-by-side photos of them each holding a fish with a caption, “Cute Minnow, Tom!”

Not to be outdone, Brady referenced David Tyree’s legendary “Helmet Catch” in Super Bowl 42 in his response to Eli:

The defining moment of their rivalry, of course, was Super Bowl 42. Tom Brady and the undefeated Patriots were looking to complete the perfect season, and almost nobody gave Eli’s Giants much of a chance.
But we all know what happened. Tyree’s improbable “Helmet Catch” set up Plaxico Burress’ game-winning touchdown. The Giants won 17-14 to spoil the Pats’ bid for a 19-0 season, only to beat Brady and company four years later in the big game again.
Eli Manning’s Legacy: Tom Brady’s Kryptonite
Brady owned just about every other quarterback he went up against, but Manning was one of the few exceptions. The two-time Super Bowl MVP handed Brady two of his three Super Bowl losses, not to mention a rare home loss at Gillette Stadium back in Week 9 of the 2011 season.
