Tom Brady is legendary for his incredible tenure in the National Football League and along the way was his equally legendary discipline to his diet.
Brady notoriously avoided food that could hurt him later on as he got older and it could be credited to the reason why he was able to play for so long.
Brady played his final game this past January as he retired the following month, but although he doesn’t have to keep in football shape any longer, the 45-year-old plans to maintain his playing career diet.
People.com reported that Brady avoids white sugar, dairy, white flour, caffeine, and iodized salt. When you do things like that, you can maintain the type of body that Brady has at his age.
“I don’t think it’s a strict regimen,” Brady said. “I think it’s just trying to make healthy choices that allow me to live the life I want to live. I’ve developed so many healthy habits, I just want to stick with them.”
Brady retired in early February after 23 NFL seasons, and although he already did that a year ago before announcing a comeback 40 days later. That decision ultimately led to the downfall of his marriage to Gisele as they announced their split in October 2022.
Brady threw for 4,694 yards and 25 touchdowns against nine interceptions last year, which were solid numbers that pale in comparison to his first two years in Tampa. The seven-time Super Bowl winner threw 83 touchdowns in 2020 and 2021, putting together the greatest post-40-year-old stretch in NFL history.
