Tom Brady is opening yet another new chapter on the back of his retirement earlier this year.
The former NFL quarterback is reported to be a new team owner in the UIM E1 World Championship electric boat racing league. Now set to become a minority owner of an NFL team and having already achieved as much with a WNBA team, Brady is joining the likes of tennis icon Rafael Nadal, who’s now an owner of Team Spain.
UIM E1 was founded by Alejandro Agag and Rodi Basso. The former is the visionary behind Formula E and Extreme E while the latter is an ex-director of Motorsport at McLaren.
The league is still in its infancy but is rapidly increasing in popularity as it has been able to attract some big names from the sporting world. As mentioned previously, Nadal has become an owner. Former Chelsea and Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba and his partner Gabrielle LeMaire are also owners.
The league is looking to feature 10 racing teams in its debut season and still has ownership spots up for grabs. Brady’s involvement will definitely see to making it more attractive.
