Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady offered details on a finger injury he suffered in Sunday’s Week 2 road win against the New Orleans Saints.
During the game, the FOX broadcast showed Brady dealing with a finger injury. It didn’t seem to affect his performance too much, as Brady finished 18-of-34 with 190 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs’ 20-10 win.
Speaking on his “Let’s Go!” podcast (via Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times), Brady disclosed that he has an injury to the ring finger of his throwing hand. Fortunately, it doesn’t appear to be a concern ahead of Tampa Bay’s Week 3 game vs. the Green Bay Packers.
“It’s just gonna be sore throughout the week,” Brady said on the podcast, per Knight.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion is in his 23rd NFL season, and he’s no stranger to playing through pain. You may recall that Brady suffered a thumb injury during a practice ahead of the New England Patriots’ AFC Championship Game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
There were worries that the injury would greatly affect Brady, but he had a legendary performance and led the Pats to a memorable fourth quarter comeback en route to a Super Bowl 52 appearance.
Brady didn’t have his best game statistically against the Saints, but he exceled as a game manager with limited weapons around him. Tampa’s defense forced five turnovers in the 20-10 win, including a pick-six.

The Buccaneers will look to remain perfect when they host Aaron Rodgers’ Packers at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This will be the first Brady-Rodgers meeting since the 2020 NFC Championship Game, and it very well could be the last showdown between the two icons.
Tampa Bay is dealing with a plethora of injuries, but they’ll fortunately have Brady for a game which could go a long way in determining home field advantage in the NFC this upcoming postseason.
