Todd Gurley was in good spirits just minutes after the Los Angeles Rams cut him from their roster on Thursday, taking to Twitter and talking about himself getting fired on his day off.
After his new contract with the Atlanta Falcons was announced on Friday, Gurley had one last parting shot for his former team.
He commented on the NFL’s Instagram post, writing “@rams thanks for the check today.”
The Rams got out of paying Gurley $10.5 million in salary and bonuses that would owe him by releasing him before 4 p.m. Thursday. However, the franchise still had to fork over a $7.55 million roster bonus to the three-time Pro Bowl selection.
Los Angeles took on $20.15 million in dead money by releasing Gurley.
