Tobias Harris had some rather strong words for Odell Beckham Jr. in response to the comments the Cleveland Browns wide receiver made amid the protests over George Floyd’s killing.
The Philadelphia 76ers forward took to Twitter to respond to Odell’s notion that criticism shouldn’t be placed onto people who chose to remain silent during the turbulent times of racial unrest, saying that it’s a lose-lose situation if someone remains silent or don’t speak up against the racial injustice.
“Continue to divide us and not unify,” Beckham Jr. tweeted on Monday afternoon. “We’re tryna unify an entire nation, which we are far far from, but that’s the only thing that bothers me . The if u don’t speak up or ur silent ur against us etc. for me it’s a tough position actually a lose lose lose.”
Tobias disagreed.
“Respectfully family, if you’re silent, we don’t know what side you’re on. And if we don’t know what side you’re on, it is safe to assume you’re on the other side…” tweeted the Sixers star.
