Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has fans buzzing after completing a highlight-reel throw during his rookie minicamp session.
Levis was widely projected to be a top-five or 10 selection in the draft, but the Kentucky product went uncalled in round one and had to wait until day two to hear his name. The Titans traded up to snag the big-armed QB at No. 33 overall.
Mike Herndon of PaulKuharsky.com posted a video of Levis making an incredible play during the team’s aforementioned rookie minicamp. Levis scrambles around then throws a dart to his receiver, who manages to make a slick catch along the sidelines:
Many scouts and analysts cited Levis’ arm and release as his two best traits. He didn’t put up eye-popping numbers during his tenure in college, but Levis’ skill set and physical tools are what made him an enticing prospect in this year’s class.
Veteran Ryan Tannehill is expected to start the 2023 season as the Titans’ starting quarterback. The 2019 Comeback Player of the Year is entering the final season of a four-year, $118 million extension he signed in 2020.
Levis and 2022 third-round selection Malik Willis will presumably compete for the QB2 role this offseason. Of course, if either of them manages to impress in training camp and preseason play, head coach Mike Vrabel may be prompted to make a change.
