The Jets’ Tim Boyle experiment didn’t even last two starts. Boyle was 14-for-25 passing for 148 yards with one interception before being taken out with 26 seconds left in the third quarter.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, the New York Jets are cutting Boyle after he was benched in Sunday’s loss against the Falcons.
Tim Boyle is now going from being the Jets’ starting quarterback to being benched, to off the team entirely.
The team is signing QB Brett Rypien off of the Seahawks’ practice squad.
In 2023, Boyle has appeared in three games and made two starts for the Jets, completing 62.3 percent of his passes for 360 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.

So far this year, Rypien has appeared in two games for the Rams and completed 18 of 38 pass attempts for 172 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception. He added three carries for 19 yards.
It appears as if Zach Wilson will be thrust right back into the starting role to possibly finish off this season.
