The Washington Redskins were having such a bad season in 2019 that you could actually dind tickets to a game for as little as $4.
By late November, the Redskins were struggling to secure their second win of the season and the fan base was just over them by that point. Tickets for an NFL game are generally through the roof, but for the DC Defenders, their first game saw tickets that were actually higher than Redskins tickets this season on certain websites.
For their second game of the season, tickets are currently running from $24 to $170 for one ticket.
The franchise had 17,000 people show up to watch their inaugural game that was broadcasted on ABC, which brought in an additional 3.3 million viewers. The team looked impressive, but it remains to be seen if they can keep up their winning ways and have the fans continue to come out and support.
The Alliance of American Football also started off strong, but never saw the attendance and ratings reach anything like the first week.
XFL chief operating officer Jeffrey Pollack was quoted in The Associated Press saying, “Our expectation for this first season is for football fans to simply give us a look, give us a chance, sample us.” Pollack said, “We understand that fandom is earned. It’s not given. … We think that if you love football, you’re going to love the XFL.”

Jones, who started just 11 games at Ohio State, was the quarterback of a Buckeye’s squad that won the 2015 Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff National Championship.
