Patrick Peterson requested a trade last season, but would soon back off that request entirely.
Back in July, Peterson said in an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio that he wants to be a “Cardinal for life.”
“Yeah, I would love to be a Cardinal for life, but things happen,” Peterson said when asked if he was ready to remain in Arizona. “Hell, something could change next month. The things happen not only in football, but in the world in general. So, I would love to be a Cardinal for life. I would love to be one of those guys to bring this organization its first championship.”
The Arizona Cardinals have remained steadfast in not trading him.
That has not stopped the phone calls from other teams.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have continued to get phone calls from at least three teams in recent weeks regarding potential trade movement regarding the cornerback.
Peterson has not played a single down this season as he has been suspended for six games for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy. After Sunday’s game, he will be eligible to play the next game.
